Cannabis Tincture
Ingredients:
Cannabis – 1oz.
Ethanol, 190 Proof (95%) – 1 pt.
Combine both the ethanol and the cannabis in a large glass Mason jar or similar sealed glass container and place in a brown paper bag. Put the jar in a warm spot (a window where light shines through will work well) for thirty to sixty days. Once a day, shake the mixture vigorously without taking the jar out of the bag. At the end of the desired time period, the mixture should have a dark, rich green coloration. Using cheesecloth, strain the mixture thoroughly making sure to squeeze all excess liquid from the cannabis.
The final cannabis tincture product will be extremely potent. It can be enjoyed in coffee along with sugar, in cranberry juice, or in tea with honey, though it may still cause an upset stomach for some even when mixed. Alone, the tincture will be barely edible as its taste is extremely strong and even foul. Store the cannabis tincture in a dry, cool spot in a glass receptacle that doesn’t allow light to permeate. The freezer or refrigerator will work well. Many people enjoy saving the cheesecloth used to strain the tincture to use later by gently rubbing it on their skin.

I’m not at all sure that eating ethanol is the best idea. Personally, I prefer the butter or oil ideas… but it up to you people, you makes your own choices…

Also I should have added this before but vaporisers suck! they are bullshit and i have never had such “lung ache” as when i used one…
It was expensive and the woman in the shop told me it was the bollocks but it ain’t - they are a load of crap…
Anybody who tells you otherwise is trying to promote a product…

Just saw the advert and it makes me mad, I spent like £70 on one that about $140 and I breathed the fumes for days believing it was a revelation but they’re not they are fricking painful and after a few weeks I got sever deep chest pain so beware you fellow stoners.. this is the word from one x-hardcore monkey…

All ethanol is is drinking alcohol. No harm done. Of course I wouldn’t recommend consuming large amounts of ethanol, though even then I still don’t know if it will cause any harm.

I cannot remember what brand it was and it’s been literally years since I used one… but me and all my friends had the same experience of serious lung ache…
My feeling was that the vapours were still harmful to the lungs and that you tend to inhale them very deeply compared to smoke and continuously for reasonably long periods of time…
And this was a crowd of folks who like nothing more than doing lots of bucket bongs, bongs and waterfalls all night long whilst playing hand after hand of poker…
How do you smoke your volcano…
Also on another tack regarding the tincture - I prefer to use some 80% rum - ie Stohl and let the weed sit in it for weeks… still not too sure about the ethanol…then again I suppose Stohl ain’t the best for you :0

Okay, here is what I did: I put about the equivalent a film canister’s worth of shake and twiggage that I actually put in my coffee grinder. I am an allergic person though and the dust made me break out in hives for a few hours so the next time I broke everything by hand-no problem. Sorry I can’t be more specific than a film canister but I was born in the day of four finger lids and it is univresal and is also the same amount I use for brownies. So anyway, next I spread all of this out and put on a cookie sheet for 10 minutes in 300 degree oven. I put the now browned weed into an empty import beer bottle with the wire closing ceramic and stopper top and added about 350-400 ML of Everclear Grain Alcohol. I kept it in 3 paper bags and stuffed that in a duct taped shut Black Guinness 18 pack box so I could put it on my porch or put in the window for magical sunshine a few hours everyday. Don’t forget to put a feet moving tune on and shake, don’t drop or invert the box once every few days or sooner if you can…I tried the first batch after 30 days and it took about 1.5 shots mixed with my special cocktail recipe to get me very pleasantly happy for several hours. I weigh 190 and a friend of mine weighing 235 needed a bit more but one is not in it for the booze effect. I’m doing the second batch for 60 days. Now for the cocktail which I call a “Dragon Dude” as some call the cannabis/alcohol mixture “green dragon.” In a steel cup mix honey to taste, about 1.5 shots of cannabis mix plus several drops of lime juice from one of them squeeze type limes and run the outside of the cup under very hot water and stir to “infuse” the honey into the other ingredients and avoid honey lumpage on your ice and total social emabarassment! It does not take long if the water is real hot but I have also been a good boy and have conserved by placing the cup in bowl of extremely hot water and stirring often. Once the honey is disolved pour over ice in your favorite glass and top off with cola and more drops of lime. Stir, do not shake here, this ain’t a martini! Garnish with orange slice and/or cherry for a fine cocktail. Note: the cannabis mixture is very strong and one can adjust the cocktail to one’s taste. For one shot of honey-lime infused cannabis mix I use a whole 12 oz. can of cola which is actually three cocktails in my little glass. I have to hide it with cola in this cocktail but my 235 pound friend, who is a pro wrestler, does his by the shot with no honey or lime! Another friend told me that vanilla extract is good, so…it is all personal taste but do find time for the experience–you owe it yopurself! You’ll be…..happy! It a great place for stems but do add the shake for the grin factor.

This tincture is a GREAT addition to a simple white frosting, which can be used for a green angel food cake, something like this:
QUICK & EASY EGG WHITE FROSTING
3/4 c. light corn syrup
1/4 c. sugar
Dash of salt
2 egg whites
1 1/2 tsp. or less of vanilla
Enough tincture for a dosage of a gram or so (of original pot) per piece of cake. Angel food in an angel food cake pan (The round kind with a hole in the middle) works great; it’s light, it allows the subtle taste of the pot to shine through, and everyone gets the same amount of frosting on their slice.
Heat corn syrup to a boil. In a small mixer bowl, beat egg whites and salt at high speed for 1/2 minute until foamy. Gradually add sugar and continue to beat until stiff peaks form, about 1 minute. Slowly add boiling corn syrup to egg white mixture in a thin stream while beating. Add vanilla and tincture. Continue beating until frosting becomes thick enough to spread, about 5 minutes.
Makes a generous amount. This recipe will cover a 13×9 inch cake or an angel food.

soak the leaf overnight in very warm water before you put it in the ethanol - it will get rid of a LOT of chlorophyll (the water the next morning is treacle brown/black) and other impurities. Some argue that you lose some THC crystals this way, but if you are careful, you wont lose much that you’d notice, and the resulting tincture will be far more palatable..not that ive tried it since i don’t do alcohol anymore
